Blog Post 15: Concept 3 - Design Review 1

Below you will find my initial design review for Design Concept 3. A second round of FEA on all components will be conducted to determine how best to proceed in terms of refining the working models. The columns on the right show how many design requirements have been met so far.

Note: red boxes indicate requirements that are yet to be met and grey boxes indicate requirements that cannot be tested due to limitations imposed on the design process by the ongoing unavailability of prototyping facilities. Orange/yellow boxes indicate the partial completion of a requirement.

Being considerably larger than the other two designs, weight is always going to be an obstacle in meeting the needs of the end user for this concept. The design in its current state will not be able to withstand forces imposed on it during its intended operation, it is therefore necessary that enhancements revolve around ensuring structural integrity as opposed to the addition of extra features.
