Blog Post 36: Concept 1 - Design Review 3

Here is the third design review for Concept 1:

Change log:

• The profile of the top cover has been reduced.

• The handle base (middle section) now tapers down towards the centre.

• The handle attachment is now hollow at points of low stress, material has also been eliminated from external geometry.

• Material reduction totals at 19%.

• A gear dowel has been added. Also, both the top and bottom sections can now accommodate roller bearings at either end of the dowel.

• Removable traction pads have been added to the grippers.
