Here is the second design review for Concept 3:

Change log:
The connecting arm for the body gripper has been remodelled, better suited to endure the torsional force exerted by the jar lid with a triangular support structure.
FEA has been carried out on each component and excess material (12.4%) has been removed.
The handle has been redesigned with a smaller profile, it is also much rounder.
A detachable, more ergonomic grip has been added featuring a spring-loaded bottle-opening tool.
Torsional springs have been added to each end of the gear dowel.
Compression springs have been added to the middle section to allow the gripper to clamp onto jar lids.
To do:
Further FEA to determine where more material can be eliminated so that the design conforms with the maximum mass stated in the PDS.
